Greetings!
On behalf of the Bossier City (LA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., I welcome you to our official chapter website.
Bossier City Alumni is a graduate chapter located just east of our sister city Shreveport, LA and serves the local and surrounding areas. We are a group of professional, dedicated, diverse, and formally educated men committed to our foundational objective – Achievement in every field of human endeavor. Founded April 15, 1995 with Dr. Theron Jackson serving as our first Polemarch, we have continued to grow in community outreach and impact through the fraternity’s National Guide Right initiative.
Within our Guide Right initiative is our award-winning Kappa League Program. Kappa League is a national program designed for the educational, occupational, and social guidance of male students in grades 6 through 12. Our program is designed for young men to prepare for, get accepted to, and graduate college. Scholarships are generated though our nonprofit entity N.E.L.T. (Northeast Louisiana Education Leadership and Training Foundation, Inc), and the Kappa League’s collective achievement is culminated with our annual Kappa League Beautillion.
While we serve others throughout the year, one of our social highlights is hosting our annual August cookout, affectionately named NupeNic. It is open to all Kappas (undergraduate and alumni) and their families and is meant for us to reinvigorate our bond of fraternity. NupeNic also provides an avenue for reclamation for any brothers who may have been away for various reasons and are looking to become active. We encourage these distinguished men to join Bossier City Alumni in our service to the Shreveport-Bossier community.

In The Beginning
A Brief History
Kappa Alpha Psi ®, a college Fraternity, was born in an environment saturated in racism. The state of Indiana became the 19th state of the Union in 1816 and it founded Indiana University in Bloomington four years later. This city was largely populated by settlers from below the Mason-Dixon line and therefore found many sympathizers of the Southern cause. Consequently, the few Blacks who took up residence in Bloomington in those early years were socially ostracized and encountered extreme acts of prejudice and discrimination…..
